Hagerstown, MD (JK) – A Hagerstown man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he fired a handgun toward several people during an argument Thursday morning.
According to the Hagerstown Police Department, officers responded to the 50 block of Murph Avenue at approximately 11:31 a.m. on July 2 after receiving reports of shots fired.
Police say the suspect fled the area immediately after the shooting but was arrested less than 10 minutes later.
Investigators identified the suspect as 38-year-old Christian Allen Williams of Hagerstown. According to police, city surveillance cameras captured Williams firing a handgun in the direction of people he had been arguing with.
No injuries were reported.
Police credited employees in the department’s Real Time Information Center, along with the rapid deployment of the department’s drone, for helping officers quickly locate and apprehend the suspect.
Williams was transported to the Washington County Detention Center and charged with:
Attempted second-degree murder
First-degree assault
Second-degree assault
Handgun on person
Use of a handgun in the commission of a violent crime
Reckless endangerment
Police said no booking photo was available at the time of the initial release. The investigation remains ongoing.
