Gaithersburg, MD (JK) – A moving truck driver has been cited following a 10-vehicle crash that injured 10 people Saturday afternoon in Montgomery County.
Police say the crash happened around 1:43 p.m. on northbound Columbia Pike just before Fairland Road. Investigators determined that a white 2018 Hino moving truck struck 10 vehicles that were stopped in traffic.
Ten people, including three children, were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said the driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of alcohol or drug impairment.
The moving truck and eight other vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed.
The driver was cited for negligent driving, failing to control speed to avoid a collision, driving at a speed greater than was reasonable and prudent, and following another vehicle too closely.
