A fatal crash in Ijamsville has claimed the life of an actress recognized for her appearances in two “Godzilla” films.
Eighteen-year-old Kaylee Hottle of Kyle, Texas, who was deaf and played Jia in “Godzilla vs. Kong” and “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” died after the Honda Accord she was riding in struck a culvert in the 11400 block of Windsor Road before 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Authorities say the vehicle was driven by a 19-year-old Frederick man. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, while a second passenger declined treatment. Hottle was transported to an area trauma center, where she was later pronounced dead.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate and is seeking witnesses or anyone with information about the crash.
