Xfinity customers are being warned about a scam email claiming their accounts will soon be discontinued.
The message appears to come from Xfinity and says an older version of the user’s email account is about to be shut down, directing recipients to click a link to upgrade their mailbox. There are several red flags.
The sender’s address comes from Microsoft Outlook rather than an Xfinity address, and the message is addressed simply to Dear User. Consumers are advised to carefully check the sender’s address and watch for emails that pressure them to click links or open attachments.
