A man convicted in a deadly Hagerstown shooting has been sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years. received the sentence last week after being found guilty of first-degree murder, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, and use of a firearm in a crime of violence.
The convictions stem from the February 12, 2025, shooting death of Jamaal Roberts inside an apartment next to the 7 Star Convenience Store on West Franklin Street. Evidence presented at trial showed Huling arranged to meet the unarmed victim before shooting him moments after they entered the apartment. He then fled but was arrested several hours later while hiding in a closet inside a Wakefield Avenue apartment.
Investigators also say Huling was wanted for probation violations when the killing occurred.
