

Germantown, MD (JK) – A man was killed and seven juveniles were injured Tuesday in a Germantown crash involving a stolen vehicle, according to Montgomery County Police.
The collision happened at the intersection of Great Seneca Highway and Clopper Road. Investigators say a Kia Optima carrying seven children ages 12 to 15 entered the intersection and struck a Toyota Matrix.
The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
Police said the Kia had been reported stolen from a Montgomery County residence before the crash.
The juvenile driving the Kia was listed in critical but stable condition, while another occupant remained in critical condition. The other five children suffered injuries of varying severity and were transported to several area trauma centers.
Dozens of first responders responded to the scene, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.
The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation, and police say additional information is expected to be released as the investigation continues.
