Biomedical Engineer I – Standardized Organoid Modeling Center (req4642)
KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Biomedical Engineer I position in the MEAD (Major Equipment and Assay Development) Lab within the SOM Center will be responsible for:

Research Associate II, Gene Editing (req4639)
KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Research Associate II is responsible for:
* Designing and building reagents for gene editing experiments
* Testing gene editing reagents in cultured cells
* Isolating nucleic acids from edited culture cells and performing downstream molecular biology assays (e.g. quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR)
* Preparing DNA input for high throughput Illumina sequencing
* Analysis and interpretation of results from gene editing experiments
* Laboratory ordering and inventory management.

Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and correctly process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements while sustaining a high level of quality to ensure customers receive correct product and in the time requested.

Strategic National Stockpile Coordinator (2172007)
This position functions as the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) Coordinator, administering medical countermeasure dispensing and distribution plans, and assisting the Public Health Emergency Planner with all‑hazards public health preparedness activities and overall program operations. This position serves as the lead for the FCHD Public Health Response Team. This position also provides oversight and coordination of the MD Responds Medical Reserve Corps for Frederick County and represents the Public Health Preparedness Office in State and Regional Healthcare Coalition activities.
