A 17-year-old Hyattsville resident is charged as an adult following a stabbing Thursday afternoon in Frederick County.
Frederick County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded around 3:11 p.m. August 20 to the 7200 block of Bank Court for a reported stabbing in a parking lot.
Deputies found an adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds to his arm, chest and abdomen. The victim was taken to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition.
According to the preliminary investigation, the victim and suspect worked together. A verbal argument between the two escalated into a physical altercation in the parking lot. Investigators say the suspect stabbed the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene.
Detectives identified the suspect as 17-year-old Darwin Orlando Martinez-Serrano of Hyattsville. He was located and arrested later that evening in Hyattsville and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
Martinez-Serrano is charged as an adult with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. Follow-up reports published August 21 confirmed the arrest and charges.
