Drivers in Frederick County should prepare for a temporary closure of Bloomfield Road beginning on or around September 8.
According to Frederick County, Bloomfield Road will be closed between Sundays Lane and Old Willowbrook Road for approximately six to eight weeks. The closure is needed to accommodate a realignment of the roadway.
A signed detour will be in place during the closure. County officials say the construction schedule is subject to change depending on weather and construction conditions.
Motorists who regularly use Bloomfield Road in the affected area should follow posted detour signs and allow additional travel time.
