A hit-and-run involving a Howard County Police vehicle early Sunday morning ended in a fatal crash in Jessup.
Authorities say an Infiniti struck an occupied, parked police vehicle around 2:15 a.m. in the 7100 block of Montevideo Road. The driver then fled from the scene, and the officer pursued the Infiniti.
Approximately one mile away, the vehicle crashed into a retaining wall. An adult male was pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional passengers were transported to Shock Trauma, where they are currently listed in stable condition.
The Maryland Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division has assumed responsibility for investigating the fatal collision under Maryland law. The investigation is continuing.
