Montgomery County police are searching for a 21-year-old Gaithersburg man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 33-year-old Nicholas Njuki.
Detectives identified Shayan Solimani Damabi as the suspect in the September 13 shooting. An arrest warrant obtained Tuesday charges him with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.
Police say the shooting followed a confrontation between Njuki and Solimani Damabi inside Quincy’s restaurant on Seven Locks Road. Investigators say the two later encountered each other near Fortune Terrace and Northside Park Boulevard, where Njuki was shot.
Njuki was found wounded in the restaurant parking lot around 2:02 a.m. Sunday and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say Solimani Damabi is about 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds and may be driving a red 2018 Acura TLX with Maryland tag 3GD6732. His whereabouts are unknown.
