An 83-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a pickup truck in Lancaster last Tuesday evening, and police have charged a Mount Airy man in connection with the crash.
Ephrata Police say the dark-colored pickup was traveling south on the 100 block of South Reading Road around 7:30 p.m. on September 29, when it struck the woman and then fled the scene.
The Lancaster County Crash Team responded and collected evidence. Police say an online tip received around 12:20 Wednesday morning led officers to 64-year-old George Stutz of Mount Airy.
Officers found Stutz’s vehicle with damage and missing parts that matched evidence recovered from the crash scene. Stutz was charged with accidents involving personal injury. He remains in Lancaster County Prison on $50,000 cash bail, awaiting a preliminary hearing.
