A loaded handgun was discovered during a shoplifting investigation involving four juveniles at a Frederick Walmart.
Sheriff’s deputies were called October 4th to the Walmart on Guilford Drive. They located a 15-year-old female, a 16-year-old male, and two children who were approximately seven years old. The juveniles were reportedly concealing merchandise in backpacks, and the stolen items were recovered.
Deputies then attempted to search the 15-year-old girl’s backpack. She tightly held onto the bag and began reaching inside, prompting deputies to take it from her for safety. A loaded Polymer 80 handgun was found inside, with one round in the chamber and 15 more rounds in the magazine. Theft and firearm charges were submitted to the Department of Juvenile Services.
