A traffic stop in Carroll County has led to the arrests of two people after deputies say they found a gun and suspected drugs inside an SUV.
Authorities stopped the vehicle last Wednesday morning October 28th on Route 140 near Kays Mill Road after seeing it traveling westbound near Old Westminster Pike, partially on the roadway and grass median. Deputies say the driver, 43-year-old Daniel Fletcher of Reisterstown, and passenger, 35-year-old Brittany Saunders of Taneytown, displayed behavior indicating possible criminal activity.
A Westminster Police K9 alerted to the vehicle. Investigators found a Glock 43X with an obliterated serial number and five rounds of ammunition, suspected cocaine, a digital scale, Suboxone, prescription medications and suspected MDMA.
Both Fletcher and Saunders are prohibited from possessing firearms because of prior convictions.
