State Police Investigate Fatal Crash In Frederick County Involving A Motorcycle

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Frederick, Md (KM) One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Frederick County Wednesday afternoon. .

State Police say at around 4:30, troopers responded to Route 80 at Kemptown Church Road for reports of a crash. . A preliminary investigation determined that a motorcycle was traveling south on Route 80 while a passenger vehicle was traveling on Kemptown Church Road. For unknown reasons, the passenger vehicle failed to yield, and struck the motorcycle.

Fire and Rescue crews say they found the motorcyclist under the passenger vehicle, and extricated that individual. That person was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the deceased is being withheld until next of kin are notified.  No other injuries were reported,  State Police say.

That area was closed for several hours while the State Police Crash Team conducted its investigation.
