New Windsor, MD (JK)- Firefighters from Carroll County spent Tuesday afternoon battling a large fire at Coldsprings Dairy Farms in New Windsor. The blaze broke out just after noon on the 3900 block of Hawks Hill Road, quickly spreading through multiple farm structures.
Authorities report that a smaller building used for sawdust bedding collapsed, and another structure containing hay and farm equipment was destroyed. The fire was upgraded to a second alarm as crews worked to prevent flames from reaching nearby crops and other buildings.
Officials confirmed that no injuries occurred, and all of the farm’s cows were safely accounted for. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Fire personnel continue to monitor the scene, and residents in the area are urged to avoid the site to allow emergency crews to work safely.
