Police Investigating Late-Night Confrontation In Germantown That Left Two Men Stabbed

A Germantown neighborhood was the scene of chaos early Sunday as Montgomery County Police responded to reports of a shooting that turned out to involve BB guns and a double stabbing.

Frederick, MD (DG) – Montgomery County Police are searching for answers after a violent incident in Germantown left two men injured early Sunday.

Officers responded just after 2:30 a.m. to the 19500 block of Amaranth Drive, where they learned a group of juveniles armed with BB guns had opened fire on a crowd.

The confrontation escalated, resulting in one man being stabbed in the back and another suffering a slash wound to his arm. Both were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say several suspects fled as officers arrived, leading to a large-scale search with helicopter assistance. Fifteen people were detained, but no arrests were made.

The investigation is ongoing, and a reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that helps identify those responsible.
