Chandler Appointed Director Of Frederick County Division Of Family Services

She has served as Deputy Director since April, 2024

Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick County Council on Tuesday approved the appointment of Lesha Chandler as Director of the County’s the Division of Family Services. She has served as Deputy Director of the agency since April of last year.

The County Executive’s Office says Chandler brings over the 20 years of experience in child welfare, community partnerships and public service to the job. “Lesha Chandler is a compassionate and strategic leader who has dedicated her career to strengthening and protecting vulnerable children,,” says County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, in a statement. “Her deep knowledge of our community and her unwavering commitment to equity and service make her the right person to lead the Division of Family Services in the future.”

Before she came to county government, Chandler worked for the Mental Health Association of Frederick County, supervising programs such as Court Appointed Special  Advocates, Parent Coaching, and Health Families.  In a statement, the County says Chandler brings a decade of executive-level experience in early childhood education at Aramark Educational Resources which is known now as KInderCare Learning Centers.
