Frederick County Grand Jury Indicts Seven On Friday

These cases now move to the Circuit Court.

Frederick, Md (KM) Seven indictments were returned on Friday by the Frederick County Grand Jury.

The panel charged Jerry Garrett Piercy, 65, of Frederick with robbery, 2nd-degree assault and theft between $100 and $1500.

The Sheriff’s Office arrested Piercy during the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 24th for the robbery of the Sheetz store at 6050 Buckeystown Pike. Authorities say Piercy indicated he had a gun during the robbery. But deputies say no gun was found when Piercy was arrested.

The other indictments returned by the Grand Jury:

*Philip Michael McHood, 35, of Frederick, Md. who is charged with 2nd-degree child abuse by a custodian and 2nd-degree assault for an offense which occurred on September 8th, 2025.

*Kerpatrick Milton McCalla, 48, of Frederick, Md. who is charged with sex abuse of a minor, and 3rd-degree sex offense for offenses which occurred between January 1st, 2020 and March 31st, 2020.

*Anthony Norman Scott, 40, of Frederick, Md. who is charged with possession with intent to distribute and possession of cocaine;  possession with intent to distribute and possession of oxycodone for an offense which occurred on July 17th, 2025.

*Victor Eugene Ferguson, 35, of Frederick, Md., who is charged with possession of a firearm in a crime of violence; possession of a firearm for drug offenses; illegal possession of a regulated firearm; and illegal possession of ammunition for an offense which occurred on September 23rd, 2025.

*Sylvester Thorpe, 37, of Frederick, Md. who is charged with 2nd-degree child abuse by a custodian and 2nd-degree assault for an offense which occurred on September 29th, 2025.

*Caleb Ray Bratcher, 29, of Brunswick, Md. who is charged with two counts of 1st-degree assault, and one count each of 2nd-degree assault and reckless endangerment for an offense which occurred on September 20th, 2025

These cases now move to the Circuit Court where trial dates will be scheduled.

The Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office says indictments are charging documents alleging criminal conduct, and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
