Frederick, Md (KM) The application process for Frederick’s FEED Grant Program is now open. Under FEED, which stands for Food Equity and Emergency Distribution, the county will be working with the Community Foundation of Frederick County to strengthen food distribution efforts in the community.
The $1 million provided for this program came from the County Council.
Non-profits such as existing food banks, pantries, religious organizations and groups that provide food, groceries, backpack food programs or hot meals within Frederick County are eligible to apply. Organizations which apply must demonstrate a need for funding, and submit a project description, budget and organizational documentation.
The county says grants can be used to expand food distribution efforts, general operating support for food related initiatives administrative overhead directly tied to food service delivery, and capital purchases such as refrigerators, freezers and food storage.
Grants will be awarded on a competitive process managed by the Community Foundation of Frederick County.
The application deadline for this first round of grants is December 21st.
A second round of funding is expected to open in early 2026.
