Victim critically injured after early-morning altercation outside Washington Boulevard business.

Ellicott City, MD (JK) – Howard County police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting early Thursday morning in Jessup that left one man seriously injured.
Officers were dispatched around 3:30 a.m. on December 19 to the 8700 block of Washington Boulevard following reports of a shooting. When police arrived, they found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he is listed in critical condition.
Investigators say the victim, a 25-year-old man, had been involved in a physical altercation in a McDonald’s parking lot with a group of people that included the suspect. Police believe the shooting occurred during that confrontation. No other injuries were reported.
The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Christian Kinuthia of Windsor Mill, was taken into custody at the scene. He is facing charges of attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault.
