In Carroll County, multiple vehicles were involved in a crash on an icy overpass along Route 140 in Westminster
Westminster, Md. (DG) – Slippery roads and travel delays marked the impact of last week’s winter storm across Maryland.
In Carroll County, several vehicles crashed on an icy overpass along Route 140 in Westminster Friday evening. Maryland State Police say the crash happened near Englar Road around 5:30 and sent four people to the hospital. Freezing rain and sleet continued to fall into the evening, creating hazardous driving conditions on untreated roads, especially along and north of I-70 and across parts of the Baltimore metro area.
The storm also caused major disruptions at BWI Airport, where more than 150 flights were delayed and nearly 100 were canceled.
