Frederick, Md (KM) A nominee has been chosen for the vacant seat on the Frederick County Board of Education. The County Executive has picked Chad King Wilson, Senior,  of Frederick to fill the seat left vacant after  Nancy Allen stepped down.

“As an educator, parent, coach and advocate, Mr. Wilson understands the complex issues faced by the Board of Education. He has deep roots in our community and is uniquely qualified for this role,” says County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, in a statement. “I am confident he can hit the ground running as the Board begins to shape its budget for the  next school year.”

Wilson has been teaching middle and high school for 19 years. During his time in Montgomery County Public Schools, Wilson taught US and world history, English, government, special education and alternative education. He’s also coached varsity football at Watkins Mill High School, and youth soccer and flag football in Frederick County.

State law requires the County Executive to nominate a candidate to fill any midterm vacancies on the School Board. They must be confirmed by the County Council which is expected to take up this nomination during an upcoming meeting.
