Local Event to Show Girl Scouts are More Than Just Cookies

It’s open to all girls interested in joining.

Thurmont, MD – The Girl Scouts of Thurmont are hosting an event this month, giving interested girls the chance to experience what Girl Scouts are all about.

“Come get Warm with Girl Scouts” is January 19 from 2pm-4pm at the Thurmont Carnival Grounds Activity Building on 123 East Main St. and will include activities where participants can earn a Girl Scout Badge.

Frederick County Troop Organizer Crystal Woods said the event will give a better look into the Girl Scout experience.

“We try to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place one girl at a time,” Woods said. “We are definitely more than Girl Scout cookies.”

The event cost is $5 per girl and is open to girls K-12, with registered girl scouts being required to bring a friend.
