Arson The Cause Of A House Fire In Hagerstown

Investigators with the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office say the cause of a house fire Monday afternoon near Hagerstown Community College was arson.

At around 12:48 PM, about 35 fire fighters responded to a two-story, wood framed duplex at 20703 Oriole Circle, and spent 15-minutes bringing the flames under control.

No one was hurt.

Damage is estimated at $11,000 to both the structure and its contents.

The fire originated in the garage, according to investigators.

The family is being assisted by the Red Cross.
