Police say they car they were using was reported stolen.
A man and a woman from Washington DC were arrested in Frederick on Monday. John Edward Morse, 52, and Kelly Lynn Green, 39, are charged with theft under $1,000, and conspiracy to commit theft.
Police say they were called to the Wegmans at 7830 Wormans Mill Road for a theft. Officers were given a description of the two individuals and their getaway car. They were located and a felony traffic stop was conducted. Both Morse and Green were placed under arrest.
Authorities say a check of their vehicle indicated it was stolen from Gaithersburg. Inside the vehicle was merchandise which was taken from Wegmans.
They also say Green is wanted on an active warrant from the U-S Marshals Service, and Morse is also charged with motor vehicle theft.
