Fire In Fish Tank Causes Minor Damage To Home

There were no injuries from a small house fire in Westminster on Thursday morning.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Officesays an occupant was alerted by a smoke alarm to a fire at 106 Bond Street, and discovered a small fire in the basement.

Ten fire fighters responded and contained the fire to a fish tank. It took them five-minutes to control the flames.

Damage is estimated at $1500 to the structure, and $500 to the contents.

The cause was an electrical failure in a fish tank.

Fire officials say the house is habitable with minor smoke damage to the first floor.
