The Park Service cites increased security.
Thurmont, Md. (KM) Parts of Catoctin Mountain Park will be off limits this weekend for visitors.
Park Central Road will be closed between Camp Misty Mount and Camp Greentop. Reservations at Poplar Grove, Camp Misty Mount, Camp Greentop and Camp Roundmeadow will be honored, the National Park Services says.
Hikers will be able to access trails to Thurmont Vista, Wolf Rock and Chimney Rock, as well as the Falls Nature Trail and the Visitor Center Trailheads. But trails to Blue Ridge Summit Overlook and Hog Rock will not be available.
The Chestnut Picnic Area will be open.
The Park Service says these closures are necessary due to increased security. The Camp David Presidential Retreat is located within Catoctin Mountain Park.
The closures will take place between Saturday, July 30th at 10:30 AM until Sunday, July 31st at approximately 2:30 PM.
