New Wiindsor, Md (KM) Two men have been arrested in connection with a homicide in New Windsor on Monday. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says 38-year-old Robert Theodore Bosley, 38, and Brett Michael Wheeler, 25, have been charged with first-degree murder.
On Monday afternoon around 5:21, deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of Dennings Road for a disturbance. The upstairs residents returned home and found blood in the basement and the house unoccupied.
Authorities say Bosley and Wheeler returned a short time later, but fled when they heard that the police had been contacted. They were located at an address on South Springdale Road shortly before 6:30 PM, and detained.
The Sheriff’s Office say an investigation led them to the intersection of Old Washington Road and South Springdale Road in New Windsor, where they found the body of 35-year-old Kandi Gerber, who also lived at the Dennings Road address. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies say Gerber’s body had signs of trauma from a sharp weapon.
Gerber was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Both Bosley and Wheeler are behind bars at the Carroll County Detention Center.
Deputies say Bosley was taking part in a work release program at the Carroll County Detention Center, and was not due to return to the local jail until 9:30 PM on Monday. He lived at the Dennings Road address when he was not incarcerated.
During interviews with investigators, Bosley became ill and had to be taken to Carroll Hospital Center for treatment. After that, he was returned to the Carroll County Detention Center.
