FREDERICK,Md (KR) Shockley Honda and the Patty Pollatos Fund are teaming up to raise money for a great cause and a disease that affects as many as 30-thousand Americans.
Cara Shaffer, Marketing Director with Shockley Honda says they are hosting a corn hole tournament and inviting the community to support ALS Research. She said Shockley chose to support this disease beacuase it affects so many people including themselves.
“We’ve actually had some of our own families at Shockley affected by this disease. So it’s wodnerful that we are able to partner with Patty Pollatos and support this cause that has really affected us internally,” said Shaffer.
Debbie Williams, Executive Director with Patty Pollatos says supporting Shockley Honda in this event is important to the Frederick community.
“I knew that Shockley had a passion for ALS so it was the perfect partnership for Patty Pollatos to come together and raise this money. It’s so important because they are on the cutting edge of eradicating this disease,” said Williams.
Every day an average of 15 people are diagnosed with ALS. The cornhole event will start at 4:00 PM on October 8th at Shockley Honda in Frederick.
