Statement Made To Police By Homicide Suspect Admissible In Court

Judge denies motions to suppress.

 

 

Frederick, Md (KM) The trial of a man suspected in a more than 20-year-old homicide in Frederick  is expected to begin on March 6th, 2017.
In Frederick County Circuit Court on Friday, Judge William Nicklas, Jr., denied motions by Lloyd Harris’ attorneys to suppress statements he made to police implicating him in the death of 15-year-old Stacy Hoffmaster.

She was reported missing in October, 1996. Her body was found in a wooded area near Interstate 70 and East South Street on December 23rd of that year. Police say she had been strangled.

Harris, 54, was arrested in January, 2016 in Kansas City, Missouri.

He was indicted on January 22nd of last year for 1st-degree murder, 1st-degree rape and 3rd-degree sex offense.
