Suspect Arrested In Robbery Of CVS Store

He was nabbed shortly after the holdup.

 

 

Hagerstown, Md (KM) A Hagerstown man is charged in connection with an armed robbery of a CVS store Tuesday evening. Joseph Phillips III, 39, was arrested shortly after the holdup of the establishment on East Wilson Boulevard. Phillips is charged with 1st- and 2nd-degree assault, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, theft less than $1,000 and malicious destruction of property.

Police say an individual entered the CVS shortly before 7:30 PM, brandishing a knife. He got away with a cash register drawer containing an undisclosed amount of cash. His getaway vehicle was a blue Ford Expedition.

Hagerstown Police Officers found the vehicle in the 300 block of South Locust Street. Authorities say Phillips backed his Expedition into a marked police car. The vehicle sustained minor damage.

Phillips was taken into custody. He was found to be in possession of a knife.

Officers located the cash register drawer in Phillips’ vehicle.

He was taken to the Washington County Detention where he’s being held without bond.
