He announces for a third term as Frederick’s Mayor.
Frederick, Md (KM)( A few months ago, Frederick Mayor Randy McClement announced on WFMD that he was running for a third term in office. Thursday night, he made it official. McClement announced before a group of supporters that he was running for re-election.
So far, he’s the only Republican running for Mayor. Democrats Jennifer Dougherty and Michael O’Connor have also tossed their hats into the ring. Daugherty was elected Mayor in 2001, but was defeated in the primary in 2005.
The deadline for candidates to file to run for Mayor or Alderman in Frederick is Monday, July 3th
The primary election is Tuesday, September 12th. Early voting for the primary takes place on Friday and Saturday, August 25th and 26th.
The general election is Tuesday, November 7th. Voters can take advantage of early voting for the general election on Friday and Saturday, October 27th and 28th.
