Va. Man Arrested In Frederick County On Drug Offenses

He was taken into custody following a traffic stop.

 

 

Frederick, Md (KM) A traffic stop in Frederick County on Sunday led to the arrest of a Virginia man. James Francis Desmond II of Bluemont is charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Sheriff’s Office says Desmond was a passenger in a Nissan Altima which was pulled over along Route 144 near Bartholows Road. A deputy who approached the car detected a strong odor of marijuana, and saw an open alcoholic beverage on the console. The vehicle was searched and deputies found five vials of suspected crack heroin, and two straws believed to be used for snorting drugs, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.

Desmond was taken into custody.
