Flying Dog Tap House Opens At BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport

It will feature Flying Dog beers & food from Roseda Black Angus Farm.

 

 

Linthicum, Md (KM) The ribbon was cut Tuesday afternoon on the Flying Dog Tap House at BWI  Thurgood Marshall Airport. The tap house will selling beers from the Flying Dog Brewery in Frederick as well as a menu featuring beef from Roseda Black Angus Farm in Monkton, Maryland.

“Flying Dog Tap House is a welcome addition to our BWI Marshall Airport travelers,” said Ricky Smith, Executive Director of BWI Marshall Airport, in a statement.. “An important point of emphasis for  our award-winning food and retail program is to feature local products and brands. Flying Dog and Roseda Black Angus Farm are two Maryland institutions well-known for their high quality and creativity.

The Tap House features  a variety of beers, on tap or in bottles and cans, which are  brewed at Flying Dog’s facility in Frederick They include Numero Uno Agave Cerveza, Gonzo Porter, Doggie Style Pale Ale, Necklace Chesapeake Stout as well as some seasonal rotations, according to the company.

The chefs at the Tap House have designed menu offerings using ingredients from Roseda Black Angus. The farm says it raises cattle the “old school” way providing the animals with open pasture and what it calls a “quality-infusing grain diet.”

Some of the dishes also feature ingredients form Flying Dog beers, such as “Get Shorty,” a meal which features Roseda Beef short ribs braised in Flying Dog’s Snake Pit IPA, and then slathered with a BBQ sauce made with Bloodline Blood Orange Ale. “The Big Steak Salad”  features Roseda sirloin tips and a savory garlic aioli sauce that’s enhanced by Flying Dog’s Snake Dog IPA, according to a news release from Flying Dog.

The Tap House concept was developed by HMSHost, which is described as a world leader in creating travel venues. It operates in 120 airports around the world.

In our experience, travelers want to truly get a taste of the local region as they are going in and out of airport, and having access to fresh Flying Dog beer and Roseda beef does just that,” said Flying Dog CMO Ben Savage, in a statement.
