Frederick Police Investigating Strong Arm Robbery

It occurred along Waverly Dr. Monday evening.

 

 

Frederick, Md (KM) An investigation is underway into a strong arm robbery Monday evening in Frederick.

At around 8:30 PM, police responded to Waverly Drive for a report of an assault. When officers arrived, they learned the victim had been robbed. He told investigators that he was approached and assaulted by one Black male. As he defended himself, four other people began assaulting him.

The victim was treated at the scene by medics and released.

Authorities say the victim’s assailants were three teenage Black males dressed in black and carrying backpacks; one was wearing a black and red jacket. Two were teenage Hispanic males and all were carrying backpacks

No weapons were displayed, but the victim’s personal property was taken.

Detectives are looking into the possibility that this strong arm robbery is linkedĀ  to similar incidents in the area. But at this time, there is no evidence this strong arm robbery is related to any other incidents in that area.

Frederick Police say they’re committed to the safety of their citizens. The Department says it’s working with businesses in the areas to enhance safety and security, and increase police patrols. . .
