Frederick,Md (KM) Frederick Police found two handguns in a teenager’s bedroom during a search and seizure operation on Friday.
Officers with the Street Crimes Unit served the warrant at 525 Wellington Court. They secured the home, and conducted a search. The two handguns were located in a 17-year-old teenage boy’s bedroom.
Police say one was a 22-caliber Ruger reported stolen during a burglary in Anne Arundel County. The second d was a Jennings brand handgun with the serial number scratched off, making it impossible to read.
The youth was arrested and taken to the Adult Detention Center. He’s expected to be charged as an adult, under Maryland law, with two counts of possession of a firearm by a minor, knowingly obliterating the serial number on a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm. Police have not yet released the suspect’s name.
