Six restaurants were found to be selling booze to minors.
Frederick, Md (KM) An alcohol compliance check was conducted on Wednesday, January 31st on nine area restaurants to make sure they were obeying the law which prohibits the sale of alcohol to minors.
Frederick Police say volunteers who are under 21 and possessing a valid driver’s license or identification card entered these establishments and attempted to buy booze. Three of the businesses refused to sell alcohol to the underage volunteers, and they were congratulated in a letter from the Frederick Police Department. They are:
Modern Asia – 1306 W. Patrick St.
Brewers Alley – 124 N. Market St
Pretzel & Pizza Creations – 210 N. Market St.
But six sold alcohol to minors They are:.
Cacique – 26 N. Market St.
La Paz – 51 S. Market St
Shuckin Shack oyster Bar – 41 S. Market St
Los Trios – 1306 W. Patrick St
Pho TNT – 1003 W. Patrick St
Santa Rosa Restaurant – 107 Baughmans Ln.
They were issued citations and referred to the County Liquor Board.
The Police Department says in a statement that keeping youth away from alcohol is difficult and requires the cooperation from law enforcement, public health, local governments,and vigilance of alcoholic beverage retailers.
