Police believe alcohol is a factor in the crash.
Mt. Airy, Md. (DG) – An accident Tuesday afternoon in Mt. Airy seriously injures two people.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Harrisville Road and Akers Drive at around 4 PM and found a Chevrolet Avalanche and a Nissan Sports Utility vehicle involved in an accident.
A preliminary investigation revealed a 41 year old woman was driving a Chevrolet and traveling west on Harrisville Road. The Chevrolet approached a right curve in the roadway, crossed the center line, and struck the Nissan which was traveling eastbound.
The driver and passenger in the Nissan were flown to Shock Trauma with serious injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet was taken to Medstar Hospital. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
