Kearneysville, WV (KM) A dirt bike crash in West Virginia Sunday night claimed the life of a Charles Town man.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says at around 7:13 PM, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Marlowe Road and Don Quixote Drive for a single-vehicle crash involving a dirt bike. Upon arrival, they found the bike lying in the grass, and the operator being attended to by medics.
Authorities say their initial investigation reveals that Garrett William Eberhardt, 29, was riding his bike along Marlowe Road when it left the roadway. It crashed and Eberhardt was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An accident reconstructionist and the Medical Examiner were called to the scene.
The investigation into this crash is continuing.
