Deep Creek Lake, Md (KM) A Montgomery County man has been charged with operating a boat while intoxicated.

Maryland Natural Resource Police say on Saturday at around 10:00 PM, an officer noticed a ski boat operated by Eric Kyle Brown,28, of Gaithersburg on Deep Creek Lake near the Route 219 bridge  without a navigational bow light… Authorities say Brown was unsteady and smelled of alcohol. He failed field sobriety tests. A breathalyzer test measured his blood alcohol content at .16, which is twice the legal limit for operating a boat.

Brown was issued three citations for impaired operation, and one for operating a boat without  the proper bow running lights.

Natural Resources Police say Brown is scheduled to appear in Garrett County District Court on July 25th. If he’s found guilty, he could face a maximum fine of $2,085.
