He will be put on probation.
Frederick, Md (KM) A Wisconsin man who brought a large quantity of pot into Frederick County pleaded guilty on Wednesday in Circuit Court to importation of marijuana into the state. Rory Robert Harding, 36, was sentenced to 20-years in prison with all but three years suspended. He will also be placed on five-years of supervised probation after he’s released.
The State’s Attorney’s Office says in May, 2018, the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit began an investigation regarding the importation of large quantities of marijuana into the state. A confidential informant told investigators that the pot would be delivered to an Easy Space Storage Facility in a box style truck and would be placed in a storage locker at the facility.
On May 20th, surveillance units saw the truck and identified the driver as Harding. Authorities obtained a search warrant and recovered 125 individually heat sealed packages of marijuana in five padlocked took boxes. The total weight of the pot was 166 pounds. It has a street value of between $500,000 to $850,000.
Harding was arrested.
