Crash Near Middletown Involves Washington County School Bus

Tow people were transported; none were occupants on the bus.

 

Middletown, Md (KM) An accident involving a Washington County school bus took place near Middletown Wednesday afternoon.

Officials with the Washington County School System say  at around 3:30 PM, a bus was traveling along Route 40- near Old Hagerstown Road, while two other vehicles were traveling in the opposite lanes. One entered the lane and struck the bus head on. Officials say that the striking vehicle was hit by another behind it, causing it to hit the bus. A third vehicle rear-ended the bus.

School System officials say no one on the school bus was hurt, but two people were transported to area hospitals: one to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown; another was flown out to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
