Two-Vehicle Crash Leaves One Dead

State Police say alcohol not a factor in this crash.

Lewistown, Md (KM) A Thurmont man was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning at Route 15 and Angleberger Road in Lewistown.. .State Police say just after 4:00 AM,  a Toyota Tacoma operated by Jacob Johnson III, 74., was traveling west on Angleberger Road and attempted to cross northbound Route 15. The pickup truck continued southbound when it was struck by a tractor trailer, operated by Matthew McIlveen, of Chambersburg, Pa., which was traveling north on Route 15.

The Tacoma overturned several times in a westward direction into the median. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Northbound Route 15 was closed while troopers conducted an investigation; southbound Route 15 was partially closed.   Fire and rescue personnel assisted in the closure of Route 15 in both directions during the investigation.

Troopers say alcohol is not a factor in this collision.

The Maryland State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division responded to the scene to assist in with the investigation.
