Two Arrested For Assaulting Police Officers

They were arrested following a traffic stop.

 

 

Frederick Md (KM) Some officers with the Frederick Police Street Crimes Unit, who were doing a drug investigation in downtown Frederick, were assaulted Wednesday evening while trying to take three suspects into custody for drug offenses.

Authorities say Kelsey Fick,25, of Frederick, Dillon Szaroleta, 25, of Parkville, Md., and Robert Woollard, 30, of Frederick, were in a vehicle which was pulled over along Grove Boulevard.

A canine was called to the scene to do a sniff for drugs. The dog indicated there were drugs in the vehicle. . Officers say they found three vials of heroin, four hypodermic syringes and several prescription pills in the car. All three individuals were arrested.

While waiting for a female officer to search Fick, police say she assaulted one of the officers by trying to kick him in the groin, but ending up kicking him in the knee. As officers were attempting to control FIck, Szaroleta became violent while in a police car, and tried to break out a window. Authorities say as officers opened the door, Szaroleta spit in an officer’s face.

There was short struggle, but Fick and Szaroleta were brought under control. Both are charged with  possession of heroin, possession of paraphernalia, 2nd-degree assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Police way Woollard cooperated with officers and was only charged with possession of heroin and possession of paraphernalia.

Fick and Woollard were released without bond after coming before a District Court Commissioner. Szaroleta was released on an unsecured bond.
