Frederick, Md (KM) A Frederick man has been charged with drugs and weapons offenses. Wayne Keith Murphy, 26, was taken into custody on Thursday at his home 1078 Carlton Place, Apartment TB.
Frederick Police say the Street Crimes Unit and the Special Response Team served a search and seizure warrant on Murphy’s home. Officers found quantity of cocaine packed for distribution and a handgun with the serial number obliterated. Authorities say Murphy is prohibited for possessing a firearm due to a previous felony conviction.
He was taken to the Adult Detention Center where he’s been charged with numerous offenses, including possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction and knowingly altering a firearm I.D. number. .
Police say earlier this month, officers began an investigation into Murphy for distribution of cocaine.
