The suspect shot at employees from the parking lot.
Smithsburg, Md. (DG) – Employees at the High’s Gas Station in Smithsburg escaped injury early Monday morning after an armed robbery.
Maryland State Police responded to the store on Jefferson Boulevard at around 2:30 AM for an armed robbery. A store employee told troopers that a younger white male with a dark face mask entered the store carrying a rifle. He demanded money. The employee opened the register, and gave the man cash. The suspect left the store and began shooting at employees from the parking lot.
Employees told police the rifle was a pellet gun and no one inside of the store was hit.
