City Of Frederick Puts Snow Emergency Plan In Effect Due To Weather

City, County to delay government offices till 10 AM Wed.

 

Frederick, Md (KM).  Due to the forecast of winter precipitation, Mayor Michael O’Connor has put Frederick city’s Snow Emergency Plan into affect.  The plan went into affect at 10 PM on Tuesday. February 19th.

That means vehicles must be cleared from  Snow Emergency Routes by 12-midnight. If not, those  vehicles risk being towed at owners’ expense.

But beginning at 10 PM, citizens can park their vehicles in the city’s parking decks for free while  the Snow Emergency Plan is in affect.

Officials say the opening of the city’s government offices will be delayed until 10 AM, but a re-evaluation will take place at 7 AM on Wednesday.

Frederick County government  offices and facilities will delay opening until 10 AM, but that is expected to re-evaluated at 7 AM

Frederick and Washington Counties are under a Winter Storm Warning from 1 AM on Wednesday, February 20th until Thursday, February 21st at 1 AM, officials say.

The County also says the outreach meeting  for the Livable Frederick Master Plan scheduled for Wednesday evening, February 20th beginning at 6:30 at Urbana High School has been canceled due to the weather.  It has been rescheduled for Monday, March 4th, same time, same location.

The Frederick County Board of Education’s Citizens Advisory Committee meeting scheduled Thursday, February 21st at 6:30 PM has been canceled due to the weather.

St. John’s Regional Catholic School says it will be closed on Wednesday due to the weather.
