It happened in the 100 block of Wheeler Lane Wednesday morning.
FREDERICK, MD. (LG) Thanks to working smoke alarms, a family of 7 was able to escape a fire that started in their home early Wednesday morning. “It happened in the 100 block of Wheeler Lane, in Frederick,” said Sarah Campbell, Division of Fire/Rescue Services. “Units first on scene located fire in a second floor bedroom with extension into the attic. I believe it was a room where a child who lives at the residence was sleeping.”
There were no fire department or civilian injuries.
The Frederick County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause. “Damages are estimated at $75,000.
