FREDERICK, MD. The City of Frederick will cut lights out at City Hall, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., on Saturday, March 30, 2019, in support of the worldwide Earth Hour. This event represents a movement toward energy conservation and long-term sustainability in general.
“We are committed to a sustainable future,” said Mayor Michael O’Connor. “Earth Hour offers a visible reminder of our commitment and the progress we are making toward greater sustainability.”
Hundreds of millions of people around the world are expected to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour during Earth Hour.
The City of Frederick invites the public to show a commitment and register their participation in Earth Hour online at: https://www.earthhour.org/.
